I am in the night
I am every part of it
The consumption of its beast
The deck that it deals
The veins that bleed
The caress of its serpent

I am the night
As it writhes and undulates toward dawn
It moans and cries a symphony of anger
I am its agony as it struggles against the light
And dies with the strike of the Sun God.

The original concept for the album "Get Some Go Again" was a two-CD set with the tracks sequenced to mix the rockin' stuff with the more, shall we say, esoteric material, but like a lot of things in life, it didn't go that way. So what you have here is all the rest of the "Get Some Go Again" sessions, along with the re-mix of "Illumination" that Dreamworks, in all their now classic "leisure executive style", left off of "Get Some Go Again". Now you get to hear the rest of the equation. We hope you dig it. In keeping with our last album,"A Clockwork Orange Stage", one dollar from each copy of "Yellow Blues" sold will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center who are putting the Ku Klux Klan and other racial hate groups on the ropes. More info can be found below. Thanks for checking us out. Keep rockin'. -Henry Rollins

Dave's Comments:

I was a little disappointed when GET SOME GO AGAIN was not released as a double CD as Rollins originally described it. However, by releasing all the tracks that didn't make it onto GET SOME GO AGAIN here on YELLOW BLUES, Rollins has certainly done fans of the music a more than fair turn. The Ben Grosse remix of Illumination that was erroneously not included on the U.S. pressing of GET SOME GO AGAIN is on this disc. Side By Side and 100 Miles, previously only available on the two disc European version and bonus enhanced CD are included, as Action which was only found on those same discs, as well as the single disc UK version and the Japanese pressing. Don't Let This Be was previously found only on that same Japanese CD, as well as on the Get Some Go Again single. In addition to assemling a set of tracks that you'd have to go far afield to get elsewhere, YELLOW BLUES also provides a number of tracks that featured prominently on the GET SOME GO AGAIN tour, including Frozen Man, Summer Nights & Yellow Blues. There are a few more tracks here: Coma is reminiscent of Don't Let This Be, but takes you even deeper into the hurt locker, awash with snarling cacophanous guitar. Hold On sounds like the result of a very succesful jam session, with Rollins uttering words of hurt over a bluesy, retrospective sort of background. Hell's Lounge Band Unwinds is more of the same, followed by the hillarious Fuck Yo Momma hidden on the same track (found previously on the two disc European version and bonus enhanced CD).
