STARVE - Promotional Single...
1997 - Dreamworks - PRO-CD-5028
This promotional single is unusual for several reasons: It only contains the LP version
of STARVE, presumably because it is short enough that a radio edit is not required.
Despite the fact that STARVE was the first promo single, this product number was assigned
after that of the second single's (THE END OF SOMETHING) promo. Finally, rather than
having any sort of artwork, this promo was released in somewhat non-descript packaging. The reason
for the 2 latter peculiarities was hinted at by Rollins in an interview on MTV's
120 Minutes: Making STARVE the first single was a snap decision: Thus, the video
for it was thrown together quickly using studio footage and old concert footage. The promo discs
for STARVE were thus produced quickly (after THE END OF SOMETHING's promos) and
no artwork was produced for the packaging.
