I am in the night
I am every part of it
The consumption of its beast
The deck that it deals
The veins that bleed
The caress of its serpent

I am the night
As it writhes and undulates toward dawn
It moans and cries a symphony of anger
I am its agony as it struggles against the light
And dies with the strike of the Sun God.

Dave's Comments:

The ROLLINS BAND continues to refine their sound and explore new possibilities, while maintaining their music's intensity. After a battle with their last record company (BMG/Chrysalis and Imago), the band moved to Dreamworks SKG for COME IN AND BURN. The Japanese release of this disc features two bonus tracks, which are also available on various CD singles. DISAPPEARING ACT bears special mention, as it is one of two version of this song with the same music and alternate lyrics (STRAY provides the opposite lyrical perspective, and these would be really cool as opposite sides of 7" vinyl!) The Australian release is an enhanced CD which provides much of the content of the band's press kit and promotional video. As always, the ROLLINS BAND does not disappoint.
